This short film we made was about a game of rock, paper, scissors. In this film we tried to make the atmosphere very tense. We made this atmosphere by turning all of the lights off except the 2 arri lights we used. We focused them on both the subjects. This lighting made the scene a lot more intense.
Although there is a lot that could have been done better, there is still a lot that I’m very happy with both shot choice and editing. For example, with the main head on shot, when the camera zooms in each time

This needs more, Matthew — remember we discussed spending more time on these evaluations? I’m not actually convinced this is finished, as there’s no full stop, but what you have could still do with screenshots to prove your points and more detail in your explanations. For example, WHY is the lighting intense? More intense than what? Can you find a screenshot from professional film that demonstrates the same idea? In this way, you start building a really strong argument that justifies your ideas.
